The Moonlight Murders (New Year's Eve Party)
Set in 2005 at a charity gala dinner to welcome in the New Year at the prestigious ‘Loch Blueberry Manor & Golf Course’ hosted by the salubrious Lord Duncan McHaggis. Upon the guests arrival the Lord is missing. Ms Strictt head housekeeper at the hotel goes to look for him and his body is found slumped in his prize winning rose garden. Who would kill such a loveable rogue and more to the point why? Surely it can’t be one of the guests at the party……or could it? Or is this another case of the Moonlight Murderer?
If you would like us to adapt this game to suit your number of guests please contact us.
The guest list includes:
DOUGLAS McHAGGIS: Twin brother to Duncan and now heir to the McHaggis fortunes. Thirty something businessman who has inherited his mothers charm and all of his fathers business acumen. He arrives at the party wearing his families’ tartan kilt; his bald head glistens in the moonlight.
FFION SAVALOY: Beautiful and glamorous blonde hotel manager from London. A true Sloan, she arrives at the party in her trademark black dress, black fishnet stockings and the family pearls are at her neck. Her blonde long curls are held back with a pretty pink rose - hand picked from the rose garden this morning.
TERESA TRUE-BLUE: Local MP who has attended the party with Henry - her right hand man. (She seems besotted with him but he keeps her at arms length.) A clever, educated woman who lives for her work and arrives at the party wearing a navy blue elegant evening dress (it’s the only colour to wear!) and her beloved ‘Vote Blue!’ rosette.
TOMMY STAGGER: Famous footballer who is star striker for Arsenic FC. He loves gambling and is often spotted leaving ‘The Lucky Lady Casino’-usually worse for wear after too much champagne! A slave to fashion he arrives wearing a white suit, shirt open to the waist and his brown hair is ruffled.
MARTINI: Wife to Tommy Stagger and pop star hopeful. She believes that you can never wear too much gold! She arrives at the party wearing a gold dress, gold shoes and long black gloves. Her blonde curls are worn loose
DAWN CHORUS: World famous opera singer and current ‘squeeze’ of Douglas McHaggis. A larger than life character - matched only by her tremendous voice! She arrives at the party wearing her long flowing evening dress and a garland of red flowers in her long black hair. Ruby red lips compliment the look
REVEREND PAUL PITT: Vicar and close friend of the deceased. He saved his life when he was 4 (he fell into a river) and they have been inseparable since. A kind man who is wholesome and good - or is he? He did not want to dress up for the party and wears his usual vicar’s robe with a large ornate cross at his neck. Throughout the evening he strokes his bald patch.
HENRY HARD-RIDER: Assistant to the local MP who is desperate to become an honourable member himself. He is ruthless in his quest for political success with a penchant for younger women - although he is having an illicit affair! Very athletic and tanned he arrives at the party wearing his trademark white dinner jacket, black bow tie and black evening trousers.
HONEY POTT: Actress and winner of the coveted Oliver award - who is know for her antics off screen as much as on! She is originally from Birmingham but adopts an Australian accent to make her seem more interesting. She likes to keep the guests entertained with her ‘on set’ stories-especially the men! Her long, fiery red curls are worn loose; she wears a figure hugging black dress and long red evening gloves. Her cigarettes and holder are never far away! A true starlet!
JOHNNY SWINGWELL: Golf pro at the hotel who thinks he is a better player than he actually is! Arrogant and conceited he walks with a swagger and constantly talks about when he ‘makes the big time’. He seems to be always looking for an investor to back him and help him become the UK’s number 1! He arrives at the party wearing his dinner jacket and trousers - and a peaked sports cap!
DICK DIESEL: Self made millionaire playboy with a penchant for the finer things in life - namely vintage champagne and women! A keen golfer (who has just finished ‘playing around’ that afternoon) he arrives at the party wearing his black DJ. His grey hair is swept back and he charms all at the table.
TARA TYPE-WRITE: The latest addition to ‘The Economy’ magazine who is penning an article on the McHaggis brothers and their wealth. Her true vocation in life is to meet a rich man who will whisk her away-something which her new job has increased the odds on. She wears a long red dress, black stockings and a huge diamond pendant at her neck (which is false of course!) Her short auburn hair is worn in a neat bob.
